Here’s a little something to get you thinking!

The chocolatiers at Oban Chocolate Shop advertise their fabulous hand made treats with some clever digital artwork by local artist Alice Strange. Oban Walking Tour guides have been running a just for fun competition when they take guests past the shop en route to St John’s Cathedral. So far this season no one has correctly identified all eight artworks so we’re upping the ante and giving away 7 boxes each containing 36 delicious Oban chocolates to 7 lucky winners who correctly identify both the name of the original painting and the artist.

We’ll post a new picture every other day with a wee hint to give you a clue. Every other day we’ll post the winners name too along with the answer – and do make a note as you’ll need those answers for the final competition post!

As there are 8 digital reworkings in the series of images created by Alice, the final post will include the 8th image and all the previous 7 images which you will need to name AND for good measure we’ll be asking a question about the Oban Chocolate Shop and the artist. Get all the right answers and you could win a gorgeous Hamper of Chocolates packed full of yummy chocolate goodies to the value of £45!

This fascinating portrait is the oldest example of oil on oak board and is dated 1434.

You’ll find it in Room 63 of the National Gallery along with many other Flemish masterpieces.

This reworking features Parsley the famous Oban cat instead of the Brussels Griffon dog and of course some delicious chocolates.
